About Us
Boys and Girls Clubs South Yorkshire is proud of its long history of working with young people in Sheffield and its surrounding areas. Since its inception in 1942 our work has changed in many ways from the traditional sports of football, snooker / pool etc to an annual ski residential and paintball and Laserzone competitions. (All activities are open to boys and girls).
Many of our clubs are situated in disadvantaged or inner city areas and provide a chance to meet new friends in a supportive environment and take part in events and activities with no financial barriers (many of our activities are heavily subsidised). We provide opportunities in training and activities which gives young people confidence building skills and chances to work on their own and as a team.

Getting young people off the streets and into a club in the evenings, which is staffed by mature and supportive adults, is very important to us. They can enjoy sport and organised activities, keep fit and have fun. Many of our clubs also have art and craft areas and IT facilities enabling research and a chance to do homework.
Many of our local activities lead on to our young people competing at regional and national level. This also gives them a chance to meet young people from other counties and gives them an opportunity to travel to different parts of the country.
